Hilites got its start in 2007 with sports action photography. Since then, I've logged hundreds of hours behind the camera from hockey benches, penalty boxes and along the sidelines. I've also invested in some of the best equipment available for indoor (low light) sports photography.

Action shots led to some opportunities for Team and Individual (T&I) photos. I took the opportunity to offer something a bit different in lighting and posing. Today, I look for similar opportunities where teams or organizations want a T&I shoot designed around their needs and tastes.

Great lighting, whether natural or artificial - is critical for great images. I use a variety of Nikon Speedlites with umbrellas, softboxes and reflectors to create the look I'm seeking. I have a small home studio but most of my shooting is done on-location. The Nikon system is a great compact system that travels well so it's possible to shoot almost anywhere.

I've also developed a hobby of creating photo collages. These one-of-a-kind creations are crafted by combining and blending images with other elements to showcase an individual, team or event.
